The new Sea Foam Green color Hounder, the first Bootlegger solid body to feature a string through body design. Why? Because it’s frickin awesome and seemingly no one is building this style. Does the string through body change the sound of a solid body electric ?.
Yes.
A string thru body is designed to promote increased sustain throughout the guitar, improving tone, and resonance. More Sustain allows notes to sound audible for longer. Simply the string thru design allows for fewer points of contact for the string energy to be transmitted. Fewer points of contact enable the vibrations of the strings to transfer more effectively through the guitar’s body.
We are also introducing our new Bootlegger six on a side head, while we are well known for our headless guitars, I wanted an equally killer design for our new headed guitars. It has a matching body color and complementary natural wood finish, it is a very very cool functional and looking head.
My designs have always favored a straight string function from our Graphite nut to the Grover tuner. Less angle of the strings not only help the longevity, it also helps the resonance. You do not want a crimp on a brake line, same goes for strings.
The pickups are matched Bootlegger 98’s Humbucker’s. The same pickups used on our Spade’s and other Bootlegger builds. These are wide range high quality Korean alnico magnet pickups, bright tone with a tight low end.
The body is 3 pieces of hard Ashwood, 42mm thick, the neck is 3 piece hard maple bolt on neck. It also features an upgraded Korean Booheung roller bridge.
